The Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre – Best Hotel near Granville Island for Families
☆☆☆ | Area: Fairview | 711 Broadway | Distance to Granville Island: 2.0 km
Admittedly, at 2 km away the Holiday Inn Vancouver City Centre is a bit of a hike from Granville Island.
But, it is one of the few top Vancouver hotels located outside of the downtown peninsula. And crucially, it is just two blocks from the Canada Line’s Broadway-City Hall Station.
This makes travel with Vancouver public transportation a breeze. And it also places the hotel just minutes from Vancouver International Airport. You’ll also find yourself a short distance from Science World, Olympic Village and Broadway’s bars and restaurants.
As a Holiday Inn, you can expect solid and clean (if unspectacular) accommodation for a reasonable price.
Executive Hotel Vintage Park Vancouver – The Closest Downtown Hotel to Granville Island
☆☆☆ | Area: Downtown | 1379 Howe St. | Distance from Granville Island: 1.3 km
Granville Island is still easily accessible from downtown even without wheels. All you have to do is make use of the False Creek Ferries via the nearby aquatic Centre Station.
Despite being somewhat of a value option, this wine-themed hotel still doesn’t skimp on the amenities: including in-room Keurig espresso machines, premium furnishings and a lovely rooftop hot tub.

This is one of the best luxury hotels in Vancouver near Granville Island and it’s in the heart of the action.
The Opus Vancouver is a stylish boutique hotel in downtown’s trendy Yaletown neighbourhood, known for its myriad dining options and glitzy nightspots.
The property is located just 40 metres from the Skytrain (Yaletown-Roundhouse Station). This places YVR and Vancouver’s top attractions right at your fingertips.
The False Creek Ferry to Granville Island can be boarded at David Lam Station, just a 5-minute walk away.
This effortlessly stylish hotel couples its contemporary design with intuitive service. As a result, the property has received numerous accolades from publications such as Condé Nast Traveler, the Michelin Guide and Travelers’ Choice.
GEC Granville Suites – The Best Value Hotel Near Granville Island
☆☆☆ | Area: Granville | 718 Drake St. | Distance to Granville Island: 1.5 km
The GEC Granville Suites is without a doubt one of Vancouver’s best budget hotels. It’s within striking distance of Granville Island as well – with the False Creek Ferry’s Vancouver Aquatic Centre Station just a 5-minute stroll away.
Plus, in my humble opinion, this suite hotel is situated in the best area to stay in Vancouver.
Why? Well not only are you situated right at the start of the Granville Entertainment District, but you’re also within walking distance to Sunset Beach, The Seawall, the West End, and Yaletown.
The modern suites have all of the amenities typically associated with a 3-star hotel. However, visitors are also granted full access to complete cooking and laundry facilities.
This makes it a great cost-conscious (prices start at $120.00) option for those who’d like to save a few dollars by avoiding Vancouver’s best restaurants and doing their own cooking.

How to Book the Best Hotels Near Granville Island
While building this Vancouver travel resource I’ve had the opportunity to partner with dozens of different hotel booking providers.
In the end, I ended up choosing Priceline for the following reasons:
- They’re a publicly traded company with a $78 billion market cap for the utmost trust
- They offer the greatest range of Granville Island hotels
- They offer book now pay later rooms which help tons with budgeting
- They’ve got a lowest price guarantee to help you save money
Finally, if you book using the links in the article you’ll be helping me get one step closer to my dream: being able to do Vancouver Planner for a living.
We’re just two born and bred Vancouverites that want to share our city – but can’t hire writers or spend $100,000 in weekly ads like Tripadvisor or Narcity.
So every booking helps, and we thank you enormously
