What is the Treetops Adventure?

The Treetops Adventure is an immersive canopy walk situated within Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in North Vancouver, British Columbia.

This award-winning attraction, established in 2004, comprises seven suspension bridges connected to towering platforms anchored to eight robust Douglas-fir trees, some over 250 years old.

⚠️  Warning ⚠️: The average top attraction in Vancouver is booked 42 days in advance.

Especially in high season, booking online is the only way to avoid sellouts.

Ingeniously designed with adjustable, non-invasive collars, the structure ensures the trees continue to grow unharmed, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to explore the forest from over 33 meters (110 feet) above the ground.

Along with the Cliffwalk Adventure, it makes up a powerful one-two punch to follow up the bridge.

Sneak Preview of Treetops Adventure

Embarking on the Treetops Adventure begins at the Treehouse, constructed entirely from reclaimed wood of a vintage grain elevator once owned by the Hudson’s Bay Company.

From here, a series of suspension bridges guide you from one majestic Douglas-fir to another, offering a “squirrel’s-eye view” of the lush rainforest below.

But enough about my writing, which won’t do it justice, check out this video:

As you can see, the walkways are designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the forest canopy.

Heck, it almost looks like these people are floating over the forest floor.

As you traverse the bridges, interpretive displays provide insights into the ecosystem, enhancing your appreciation for this delicate habitat.

My Treetops Adventure Review

Stepping onto the first bridge, I was immediately struck by the tranquillity and beauty surrounding me.

Unlike the main bridge, the gentle sway here isn’t as scary as it’s much lower up – there’s nothing but sturdy construction that ensured I felt secure throughout the journey.

Pausing on each platform, I took in panoramic views of the forest, spotting various bird species and marvelling at the rich biodiversity.

For me, the Treetops Adventure was more than just a walk among the trees; it was an opportunity to connect with nature in a profound and memorable way.

Also, it reminded me a bit of playing treehouse as a kid – which is probably why all the kids there absolutely loved it!

Finally, keep in mind that the best time to visit Capilano Suspension Bridge is early in the morning.

Either way, make sure you reserve your tickets online in advance, as weekends and high-season time slots sell out well in advance.
