Are you looking for the best cheap hotels in Whistler? Whether you’re planning a family vacation or the ultimate ski getaway, finding budget-friendly accommodation in Whistler can be a challenge.

We’ll provide an overview of each hotel, including amenities and pricing, so you can easily compare and find the best option for your needs.

Let’s save you some money,

The Top Cheap Hotels in Whistler

Whistler’s reputation as a luxury resort town doesn’t mean you have to break the bank. There are several properties that offer (somewhat reasonable) beds relative to their more expensive competitors.

So, let’s take a dive into our curated list of cheap hotels in Whistler, where affordability meets quality, giving you the perfect base for your mountain getaway.

A private pod at the Pangea Pod Hotel in Whistler

Pangea Pod Hotel – Whistler’s Most Unique Cheap Hotel

☆☆☆| 4333 Sunrise Alley | Area: Whistler Village | Prices: From $57 USD

This unique Whistler budget accommodation is modelled on the increasingly popular Japanese-style capsule hotel.

Each customer receives a bed situated in their own “pod” within a larger dorm room, each of which contains their own shared bathroom. And for an added touch, it is also fully stocked with toiletries.

Pangea offers both single and double pods that vary in price depending on whether they’re front or side entry. Female-only dorms are also available.

Having stayed in capsule hotels in Japan, I can assure you that they’re vastly superior to hostels in terms of space, comfort and cleanliness. And this is coming from someone well over 6 feet tall.

Furthermore, Pangea is located right in the heart of Whistler Village. So, unlike many of the other cheap Whistler hotels on our list, you’re just steps away from the gondola.

The HI Whistler Hostel

HI Whistler – The Cheapest Accommodation in Whistler

☆☆| 1035 Legacy Way | Area: Olympic Village | Prices: From $23 USD

For students and young travellers looking for the cheapest accommodation possible, it is hard to beat an old-fashioned backpacker hostel. The Whistler area location of the popular international chain Hostelling International is located 8 km South of Whistler near the Olympic Village.

This shouldn’t be a problem if you have your own vehicle. However, you’ll be looking at a 15-minute ride into town on the #20 bus, a taxi, or well over an hour’s walk if you don’t.

Like many HI locations, it lacks the social atmosphere typical of many Vancouver Youth hostels. But if you’re simply looking for an affordable bed, then this dirt-cheap Whistler hostel is more than sufficient.

In fact, this purpose-built facility was constructed in 2010 to house athletes during the Olympic Games. So the facility offers clean, secure, and surprisingly luxurious accommodation — with both dorm and private beds on offer.

The Pinnacle Hotel sits in front of Whistler Mountain

The Pinnacle Hotel – The Best Cheap Hotel in Whistler for Families

☆☆☆1/2| 4319 Main Street | Area: Whistler Village| Prices: From $150 USD

The Pinnacle Hotel in Whistler is a great choice for budget travellers looking for a comfortable and affordable stay. This hotel offers all the amenities you would expect from a modern hotel, including an outdoor heated pool, fitness centre, and on-site restaurant.

The rooms are spacious and have a very homey feel, with fully equipped kitchens and dining rooms. This makes them great options for families or groups looking to save a little money by avoiding the often overpriced Village restaurants.

This cheap Whistler hotel is located just off the main village streets, so you can get a good night’s sleep while being right within striking distance of Whistler’s top attractions.

Overall, the Pinnacle Hotel in Whistler provides excellent value for money and is definitely worth considering when looking for cheap hotels in Whistler for those unlikely to stay in a hostel or capsule hotel.

Whistler Inn & Suites – The Top Budget Suite Hotel in Whistler

☆☆☆| 4429 Sundial Place | Area: Whistler Village| Prices: From $145 USD

The Whistler Inn and Suites Hotel is a great option for those looking for a Whistler budget hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. You get the option of a variety of suites to match the size of your party, including studio, queen and luxurious loft suites.

Despite the hotel’s 3-star rating, the facilities are amazing, including a pool, gym, and sauna, as well as both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. And the addition of a sofa bed makes this budget Whistler hotel a great option for large groups.

The hotel’s location is also great, as it’s just a short walk from the village and 150 metres from the ski lifts. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Whistler Inn and Suites Hotel to anyone looking for a budget-friendly option in Whistler.

The Adara Hotel – The Most Affordable Boutique Hotel in Whistler

☆☆☆☆| 4122 Village Green | Area: Whistler Village| Prices: From $125 USD

When discussing a destination like Whistler, the definition of a “cheap hotel” can start to lose all meaning. But this is only natural in a place where basic rooms can enter the $500 range in high season. Luckily, one hotel still offers guests a boutique experience at reasonable rates.

The Adara Hotel offers stylish rooms that are spacious and well-appointed. Each suite features comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel also has a swimming pool, hot tub, and fitness center, which are perfect for relaxing after a long day on the slopes.

And if all that isn’t enough, you even receive freshly baked cookies on arrival!

Plus, with its proximity to Whistler Village, it’s easy to explore the area without worrying about transportation costs. All in all, the Adara Hotel is a great choice for those looking for budget hotels in Whistler!
